Due to the nature of their construction from steel and reinforced concrete, which lasts only a few hundred years without excessive maintenance, the odds of these skyscrapers falling from an earthquake before they are rendered obsolete and demolished are extremely low. Most are designed for a once in a century quake, and it would take something significantly stronger than that still to cause complete catastrophic failure. It's also worth pointing out that the millenium tower, and the other buildings of san fransisco, are specifically designed to survive large earthquakes. The surrounding buildings are built in much the same way, so even if they were hit by some debris from the tower, a domino effect would not occur. The debris will lose most of its horizontal kinetic energy to internal deformations and collisions, and any debris knocked loose will fall almost perfectly straight down.
